Hear from our students…
“I participated in Crested Communications as the Director of Media Production in the Spring 2023 semester, and I enjoyed every second of it! I have taken other classes where you function as an advertising agency and have a client, but you will not find another class nearly as engaging, hands-on, or insightful as Crested Communications.
Getting to work with a client in the Greater Hartford Area and actually presenting and working with them was such an incredible opportunity that I will be forever grateful for. Faculty Director and Assistant Professor Sarah Miner does an excellent job providing students with the tools that they need to succeed, but also giving students the space to lead and to work as a team.
I learned and gained so much from this course and highly recommend it to any student looking to dip their toes into this line of work. If you are a student who thrives doing hands-on work where your in-class responsibilities align with your interests and future goals, this is the class for you!”
-Eden Fritz-Aguilar, ‘23
Created Communications opened a world of opportunities for not only myself, but my peers as well. The agency taught me how to work closely with others, navigate difficult situations while working as a team, and most importantly, how to create a solid strategy to get the job done for the client.
In my time at Crested Communications, I was the Project Manager for my team. This role was important to the group, as well as the client, having the responsibility of turning over a complete media package to help their business grow. I also felt a great deal of support from my professor and assistant professor throughout the entire semester. I learned the importance of acting as a leader, carrying out a plan, and proudly presenting your hard work.
This class shaped me for my future career to come, even if I didn't know it at the time. This was one of the best classes and opportunities I was given at my time at UHart, and I am forever grateful for the lessons I learned in that classroom.
-Emily Caminiti, ‘22 Production Assistant, Newsmax
Created Communications has prepared me for real life public relations experiences. Throughout my time at the agency, I learned how to create proper toolkits, social media posts, content calendars, and blog posts.
Without the agency, I wouldn’t be prepared for me new account manager position with The Small Business Collective.
-Jackie Argondizza, ‘22 Agency Director

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
